Artist Statement

Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.
Carl Gustav Jung

The art of painting can not be enhanced by elaborating complicated discourses or running endlessly after innovations in style or concept. After all, it may just be a tool to preserve our sanity and social contact in this world.
I experience each color -as every musical note- within its own vibration, and think of Abstract Art as something more than an episode of last century's avant-gardes. I rather embrace it as a personal way to connect with the universal consciousness and materialize it on a canvas. Thus I strive to recover for my art a mysterious, spiritual dimension that often seems to be lost in the hard process of keeping it contemporary. Perhaps it would be possible to pitch it into eternity if turned into a deep expression of myself instead of the cool statement on intellectual correctness which is expected from every living artist. These paintings are not the result of any search but a finding. Finding myself wondering What's next? when the answer might simply be Next is NOW.
